01 The brief

Derome is Sweden's largest family-owned wood industry — 2,400 employees, founded in 1946, and active across the full chain from forest to finished house. Their existing site couldn't carry that vertical integration story, surface sustainability and careers as equal doors, or give an institutional buyer a reason to trust an 80-year-old family business. We rebuilt the surface on our own time.

02 The approach

  1. 01

    Heritage photography with institutional weight

The fold is a black-and-white archival photograph of Derome workers — not stock timber imagery — with 'Från skog till färdigt hus' in editorial serif and an 80-year seal in the margin. The site opens with history before it opens with services.

  2. 02

The value chain as information architecture

Skog, Trävaror, Bygg, Hustillverkning, and Bostäder each get their own door in the offering menu rather than collapsing into a generic 'Solutions' dropdown. The IA mirrors how a procurement team actually arrives: by stage in the build chain, not by org chart.

  3. 03

Metrics that earn the 'largest' claim

Founded year, trees planted annually, homes produced, and facility count animate in a stats strip below the fold — turning abstract scale into numbers a buyer can repeat in an internal memo.

  4. 04

Four service paths, one home page

E-handel, offering overview, sustainability, and careers each get a card with distinct copy and a 'Läs mer' path. News sits below as a CMS-ready feed so the corporate surface stays current without a full rebuild.

04 What we'd ship next

We sent the work over and never heard back. The deployment stays up at derome.vercel.app as a portfolio piece — proof of the kind of work we'd ship for a family-owned industrial or corporate client.
